Post Carbon Lab

This ongoing, innovative collaboration pushing to help rectify the effects of climate change through fashion has been building up momentum and scale over the past two years. Post Carbon Lab and Olivia Rubens started from mere petri-dish-sized climate-positive textile samples, moving towards soon bringing this technology to the commercial space and into the hands of the public. Post Carbon Lab created a bacterial coating that enables the garments and pieces to become living, green pieces, sequestering carbon from the atmosphere by photosynthesizing and living like plants do, giving off oxygen. The garments require some care to be kept alive, and this new experience brings the team hope in redefining the longevity and meaning of our relationships with garments and accessories, while giving individual agency in creating climate solutions to the public.
